Anubis… The Guardian of Eternity

◾In a world whose secrets remain buried beneath the desert sands, death was only the beginning of a new journey, and Anubis was the guide and guardian of that journey. Not just a god, he was the guide who stood between life and death, determining the fate of souls in the afterlife.

◾Journey to the Hall of Truth:
The story begins the moment the soul leaves its body. Instead of being lost in the darkness, it finds itself in the company of Anubis, the god of death and mummification, who appears as a half-man, half-jackal, black. This black color symbolized fertility and the black earth that renews life, making it a symbol of hope for a new resurrection.

◾Anubis was the first to mummify the god Osiris after his murder by his brother Set. Since then, he has become the protector of all mummies and the companion of all souls on their journey. His role is not only to protect, but also to guide the soul to the Hall of Truth, where the fate of the soul is judged.h

◾The Scales of Justice: The Moment of the Greatest Judgment
When the soul reaches the Hall of Ma’at, it stands before a majestic scale. Here, Anubis undertakes his most important and dangerous task: placing the deceased’s heart on one side of the scale, while the feather of truth, Ma’at, is placed on the other. This is not just a weighing process; it is a test of the purity and goodness with which the person lived.
Anubis meticulously supervises the scales, while the god Thoth, the god of knowledge, records everything.

◾If the deceased’s heart is as light as a feather, it is evidence of their purity from sin, and they are then allowed to pass into eternal paradise. If the heart is burdened with sin, the end is tragic, as Anubis leaves it for a mythical monster called Ammut to devour, halting the soul’s journey forever.

◾Anubis: An Undying Legacy
Although thousands of years have passed since these beliefs, the story of Anubis and his role in the realm of the dead has not faded. This god still appears in films, games, and books as a symbol of power, mystery, and eternity, reminding us of the importance of justice and purity in all times.
